The MGFL100 battery ground fault locator locates ground faults on ungrounded DC and AC systems, DC battery systems, and protected IT networks. It also alarms when the real fault is found, while automatically distinguishing between real fault current and reactive current drawn by stray system capacitance.

The MGFL100 measures the earth/ground fault resistance, the system capacitance, the real fault current, and the reactive leakage current. It also locates high impedance ground faults due to water ingress, as well as ground faults on systems with high leakage current. The MGFL100 makes locating the ground fault fast and easy by alarming when the circuit with a real ground fault is located. No complicated tuning out of noise or capacitance is required. Easily trace the fault with the lightweight transmitter and receiver. Set both password protected voltage and current limits to ensure you never put too much current in your system.

The MGFL100 also enables you trace short-to-ground faults, or earth faults, by directly coupling to the line. This can be done either off-line or on-line using a coupling filter.

The BITE5 will test lead acid batteries, NiCD batteries as well as lithium-ion batteries. It will measure and record battery voltage, impedance, and temperature. The recorded data can be trended on the unit’s touch screen. View the trended data of each test or trend the data of each cell. Set pass, warning, and fail limits for voltage and impedance. Record the ripple voltage, ripple current, and float current and transfer the recorded data via USB or via an SD card to the Power DB software, then create custom reports and automated analysis.

The BITE5 also supports discharge testing. It will measure the voltage and current throughout the discharge cycle. The BITE5 can also measure the impedance and temperature throughout the discharge cycle. It can record voltage, DC current, impedance, and temperature of each cell throughout the entire discharge test. Measure the average impedance at the end of the commissioning test and use this as a limit for future impedance tests. Trend the recorded data on the BITE5 touch screen and view the trended data of each test, or trend the discharge of each cell. Transfer the recorded data via USB or via an SD card to the Power DB software, then create custom reports.

The BITE5 can be used on more than just batteries. Measure and record the output of solar panels on a branch of panels. Measure and record combiner DC voltages. Measure the input and output of inverters and more.

The TORKEL 900 is Megger’s latest battery discharge tester, which gives the most comprehensive results when testing battery capacity.The TORKEL concept was released in the 80’s as the first portable battery discharge tester that had automated resistance regulation to be able to keep constant current. The TORKEL 900 series is the 4th generation product and with that a new way to regulate the discharge current is introduced, with the benefit of a world leading dynamic power/voltage range. TORKEL™ 900 series is used to perform load tests or discharge tests which is the only way to determine a battery systems actual capacity. Tests can be conducted at constant current, constant power, constant resistance or in accordance with a pre-selected load profile. Together with the cell voltage logger, BVM, now connected directly to the TORKEL 900, it becomes a complete stand-alone discharge test system.The TORKEL is connected to the battery, the discharge current and the alarm levels (voltage, capacity, time) are set. After starting the discharge TORKEL keeps the current constant at the present level. When the voltage drops to a level slightly above the final voltage, TORKEL issues an alarm. If the voltage drops so low that there is a risk for deep discharging the battery, TORKEL shuts down the test. All values are stored in TORKEL and can easily be transferred via an USB-stick to a PC for evaluation.Testing can be carried out without disconnecting the battery from the equipment it serves. Via a DC clamp-on ammeter, TORKEL measures total battery current while regulating it at a constant level. Furthermore, the high discharge capacity of TORKEL gives the opportunity to shorten the test time. Discharging can take place at up to 220 A, and if higher current is needed, two or more TORKEL units or extra load units, TXL, can be linked together.

The Megger BITE3 Battery Impedance Test Equipment determines the health of lead-acid cells up to 2000 Ah by taking measurements of the most important battery parameters. The BITE3 measures cell impedance, an internal Ohmic test, cell voltage, intercell connection resistance and ripple current. And, for the first time in a battery instrument, the BITE3 measures float current and the harmonic content of the ripple current. There is even a built-in spectrum analyzer to show the harmonic content of the ripple current. It has firmware that can be upgraded.

The BITE2 Battery Impedance Test Equipment determines the condition of lead-acid and nickel-cadmium cells up to 7000 Ah.
