Used with Megger MFT-X1 multifunction installation testers, the EVX100 adaptor provides all the functions needed for automated and manual testing of single- and three-phase Mode 3 electric vehicle charge points rated at up to 22 kW. Unlike other adaptors, the EVX100 mounts directly onto the MFT, which means it provides a fully integrated solution that doesn’t need inconvenient interconnecting cables.

Another unique benefit is that the EVX100 is directly controlled by the MFT-X1, which makes it easier and faster to use. In addition, direct control reduces the possibility of making incorrect test selections. The EVX100 also confirms that the mode set on the charger is correct for the test being performed.

To make testing even more convenient, the EVX100 offers automated testing, which means that you will no longer have to manually cycle the charge point through numerous CP states every time a test trips a protective device such as an RCD or RDC. As protective devices are often fitted in locations at a considerable distance from the charge point, this feature can potentially save a lot of walking and valuable time.

The EVX100 is powered by a high capacity internal battery, which can be recharged quickly via a standard USB-C charging port. This means you won’t need mains cables with various types of plugs. Just two charger connectors – Type 1 and Type 2 – will almost certainly cover all of your testing requirements, with type 2 supplied as standard. And, if you’re a user of CertSuite Installation software, you can produce customised test certificates in real-time with just a couple of clicks.

The EVCA210 Electric vehicle charge-point adaptor is a compact, easy-to-use adapter designed to perform all the functions required by the electrical contractor to fully test Mode 3 AC Electric Vehicle Charge-points. Specially designed to comply with UK, European, and other international wiring regulations and standards, the EVCA210 may be used on all single- and three-phase electric vehicle charge points with appropriate connectors.

The EVCA210 is designed to test the function and safety of a charging point. The adapters allow you to conduct tests using appropriate single or multifunction test instruments on EV charging points in accordance with IEC/EN 61851-1 and IEC/HD 60364-7-722. Charging points should be tested as part of the initial installation and repeated periodically.

The Megger EVCA210/EVCA210-UK test adaptors are designed to simulate the connection of an electrical vehicle to the charging point under test. Connection of the adapter enables the operator to trigger the charging process by selecting the appropriate Proximity Pilot (PP) and Control Pilot (CP) states. Test instruments can be connected using either the front mounted mains socket or the 4 mm connection ports L1, L2, L3, N, PE. Two additional CP signal terminals give the operator the ability to measure the CP signal using an oscilloscope.

In addition, the adapters have a manual PE Pre-Test feature that allows the user to test for dangerous voltages present on the PE, prior to any other testing of the charge point. If this test fails, testing must cease as potentially dangerous voltages may be present on the PE and faults must be investigated and rectified before continuing.

Stabilised insulation

For the first time in any multifunction tester, the MFT-X1 incorporates a stabilised insulation test voltage, ensuring output voltage is accurate to within +/-3% +2 digits. This compares to the industry standard of +20%.
